Welcome back friends! After a nice long break I am back here in this bloggy world to share and encourage. I’m so happy to be back here and I will count the existence of this happy place as my paradise moment today. 🙂
I hope you are all well and for those of you with little ones, I hope your school year is humming along smoothly. We are in a pretty good routine here after making a big push to finish some big projects around our home. The talented Mr. Hubby now has his handsome and practical office complete. I’m betting he will be very thankful for a quiet place to escape sometimes this fall and winter. He has already taken advantage of the quiet space to get some of his work done without the kiddos jumping on top of him. 🙂 Mr Hubby usually does all the electrical work and the framing, then we work together on the walls. I usually am the queen of finishing work. But credit must be given to him for the gorgeous color choice. I love it! It is soft and relaxing and just a bit masculine. Remember when I learned a new home repair skill? Well this time Mr. Hubby learned a new skill in installing the laminate floor and I think he did a great job! With the completion of this room we are much further along in our goal of a completely finished basement. Yay us!
I was also very busy lately putting my canning supplies to good use. I am really just getting the hand of this skill but I’m having tons of fun and it is making some great yummy goodies for us. I picked up a half a bushel of apples and a full bushel of peaches at the farm stand and the results are amazing! I made two kinds of peach jam, peach butter, apple butter, applesauce, peach applesauce, and some very zesty peach salsa. We also were able to make a few pots of grape jelly from the grapes from our arbor. I’m thrilled we got what we did since I really slacked on taking care of them this year. Perhaps I got a bit carried away but it was fun. 🙂 Of course it was good that we have had a fairly cool end to summer so I wasn’t steaming myself to pieces while I ran the stove that much!
I am looking forward to getting back to regular posting here again and I hope you all will join me and share your adventures too. In the meantime, take a peek at these pictures of my canning adventures and then share with me some things you have been up to. I’d love to know!
Peace and health,
