I hope you all have found some new purpose for something old or worn recently! I have a new review for my “Everything Old is New Again” series. Today I am highlighting several items that have been recycled into something new. I have three items today.
The first is a very soft, comfortable pillow that I recycled myself.
This pillow used to be a skirt. The skirt didn’t flatter me at all but I kept putting it back in my closet because I loved the fabric. It is an immensely soft jersey knit that had a beautiful pit of trim around the bottom.
I finally convinced myself that I would never wear it as a skirt and when one of my old couch pillows tore I realized that this fabric would be wonderful to lay my face against. So I cut off the trim and fashioned new shape. I really like it now and I’m happy that I saved this former skirt from the scrap bag. 🙂
The next recycled item that I love is a purse that my sister gave me.
It is a great size, very cute, and has shown to be extremely durable. I’ve had it for a few years now and it still looks new. Here’s the best part: It’s made from recycled soda bottles!
Isn’t that great?! I love the fact that the bag is so stylish that everyone I tell is shocked about its origins.
The last item I will share today is a toy that Mr G got for Christmas from another of my sisters.
It is made of recycled plastic and can even float to go in the bath. Mr G loves it but he has to battle with Mr T because he loves it too! I love that the company that made this, Green Toys, Inc. is a company that sells products made from recycled plastic and that they are made the USA. They seem like an awesome company and I would love to invest in a few more of their toys in the future. 🙂
Aren’t I a lucky girl to have cool sisters who buy us earth-wise gifts? I hope this has stirred up some ideas for you. Share with me any interesting ideas you have – I always need more!
Peace and health,
