Ice and snow! That has been the theme for this week! We have had a few episodes so far but fortunately not too much at once. Who here is ready for April? (My hand is waving for all I’m worth!)
But that does not exactly mesh well with my acceptance challenge from this week does it? How did I do? Not too bad but I think I still have a long way to go. I definitely focused more on accepting the silly, challenging behaviors of my little ones as normal and expected. I also tried to be more accepting of my own failings but that one is a bit hard for me. 😉
How about you? Did you try this challenge? And how did you make out?
This week I find myself thinking ahead a bit. Ever since my maternal Grandmother died on Valentine’s Day so many years ago, the holiday kind of lost it’s luster. I have recovered some in the respect that I enjoy the idea with Mr Hubby but we also don’t usually make a huge deal about it.
I do however like to have some fun with the kids. This weekend I am thinking about what fun ways we can find to celebrate this holiday. I think all the pink and happiness helps take my mind off the fact that it is still winter! So now I am working on coming up with some cute crafts we can do, and maybe use the holiday to it’s fullest by finding some charitable outlet to bless. And of course we will at least touch on St. Valentine. I’ll get back to you on what we decide.
What do you all think of Valentine’s day? Do you celebrate it, or ignore it? Any great ideas for me?
Don’t forget to leave me a comment on my other post giving your vote for a name for our favorite jam!
Peace and health,
