What Do You Get When You Experience A Couple Of Centuries In 2 Days?

As is my typical habit, today is a shameless update on my little families activities. Last week we had quite a lot of fun! After a very active week we had the recurrent lucky experience of living where we do. Of all the wonderful parts of living in this place, one of the best is that we are super close to the Annual Steam Show!

This event showcases some of the oldest steam engines in the country and lots of other fun things. Between the tractor parade, classic car show, flea market stands, and lots of yummy food, we can revel in small town pleasures.

Of course being a pretty decent history buff, married to an obsessed history buff, we had a great time listening to the whistles blow and watching the sparks blow up into the dark night sky. After enjoying our fill we even indulged in some ice cream sundaes!

Next, if the previous day’s fun wasn’t enough, we jumped forward a couple of centuries and stood with our necks straining to enjoy the deafening pleasure that comes with watching arial stunts performed by the most amazing planes and fighter jets.

After years of missing it we were able to attend the Air Force’s best show. A hot day to be sure, but we all enjoyed ourselves and Mr G can’t stop saying “Plane!”.

The juxtaposition of the very different vehicles tickled Mr Hubby and my’s fancy but we are so glad to have had a great weekend with the children making memories.

Do you do anything new or fun with your families recently?

Peace and health,
